Gilmer County is the apple capital of Georgia, and we are well known for our annual Autumn Apple Festival. While the fruit is plentiful during October, the apple trees bloom beautifully in the Spring, and they seem to get less attention since they don’t produce fruit. Well, that is no longer the case as Ellijay is hosting the first annual Apple Blossom Festival on May 3 and 4, 2014. Finally we have a Spring festival that showcases how beautiful these trees are before the fruit grows.

Over one hundred vendors will be on hand offering food, arts, crafts and more. This is a perfect opportunity to get one-of-a-kind gifts and local, organic food. You’ll get a great sense of what North Georgia has to offer, and there will even be a business expo. It is free admission and pet friendly, so feel free to bring your dogs with you, as long as they are on a leash. The hours are Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
